Tendwell functional medicine favorites for 2025

A Tendwell Favorite Things Roundup

At Tendwell, I’m constantly searching for the safest, cleanest, and most nourishing products—both for myself and for the people I care for. As a holistic nurse practitioner and the founder of a functional medicine practice, I only recommend items I trust, use, and genuinely love.

Here are a few of my Favorite Things for 2025—from fragrance-free moisturizers to nourishing foods and simple lifestyle tools that support a healthier, calmer, more balanced everyday life.

Favorite Unscented Body Moisturizers

Healthy skin, happy barrier, zero scent.
These two unscented gems made my Top Picks of 2025.

Beauty From Bees — Unscented Body Serum

A silky, minimalist body serum gentle enough for reactive or ultra-sensitive skin. With six active, skin-loving ingredients, it supports a stronger, healthier barrier over time. It absorbs instantly when applied to wet skin—no greasiness, no residue, and no scent. Just soft, radiant, nourished skin.

Why I love it:

  • Ultra-gentle, barrier-supportive formula
  • Perfect for sensitive skin or anyone avoiding fragrance
  • Hydrates deeply without heaviness

How to use:
Apply a nickel- to quarter-sized amount to damp skin right after your shower or bath. Let it absorb before towel-drying.

Key Ingredients:

  1. Avocado Oil – Deep moisture + improved elasticity
  2. Castor Seed Oil – Smooths + supports collagen
  3. Coconut Oil – Repairs the barrier and prevents water loss
  4. Shea Butter – Rich, nourishing, great for aging skin
  5. Beeswax – Locks in moisture without clogging
  6. Rosemary Leaf Extract – Naturally revitalizing

Created by a Colorado physician in Carbondale, this award-winning body oil is beautifully simple and profoundly nourishing. With 11 plant-based oils—jojoba, kukui, rosehip, hemp, and more—it strengthens and softens the skin while keeping things scent-free and soothing.

Why I love it:

  • Simple, clean, plant-based formula
  • Fantastic for sensitive skin and sensitive noses
  • Leaves skin moisturized, supple, and calm

  3. Organic Borage Seed Oil
  4. Organic Hemp Seed Oil
  5. Organic Sweet Almond Oil

Foods I’m Enjoying Right Now

KiZe Protein Bars

Delicious, satisfying, and great in a pinch. They’re a little higher in sugar, but they work well for a mid-morning snack, especially after a protein-rich breakfast.

Hemp Hearts (Shelled)

A nutrient-dense staple. I sprinkle them on:

  • hot cereals
  • grain bowls
  • Greek yogurt
  • cottage cheese
Available at Trader Joe’s or anywhere you shop.

Opal Organic Apples

My current favorite apple—sweet, tangy, crisp, and perfect.

Milk Thistle Tea from The Republic of Tea

Milk Thistle Tea supports liver detox. Who doesn’t need to support detox pathways in our chemical laden world. I love this herbal tea blend because of its delightful citrus notes of organic orange peel and grapefruit. Steep for 10-15 minutes to get the most out of your therapeutic tea. Sip all day.

Fishwife Tinned Fish

High-quality, responsibly sourced, and incredibly convenient. Wonderful for quick lunches, protein-rich snacks, or travel days.

Home & Lifestyle Favorites

Primally Pure Candle + Lip Oil

Holiday Candle—limited edition blend in golden beeswax. Clean ingredients, soothing scents, and a lovely way to create a calm cozy ambiance. The lip oil is gorgeous and made with organic castor oil and pomegranate sterols to naturally plump lips. Tallow from grass fed cows locks in moisture in this dry season.

Doorway Pull-Up / Hanging Bar

Recommended by my physical therapist—and surprisingly fun. Great for neck and upper back decompression, core engagement, and quick movement breaks throughout the day. I’ve been enjoying simply hanging.
