Hommade Ginger Tea
Ginger tea is a soothing, flavorful beverage that supports the body in countless ways — helping to fight infections (bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic), improve circulation, ease digestion, and reduce nausea. Making your own at home with organic ingredients is simple, nourishing, and delicious.
This guide walks you through preparing homemade organic ginger tea using a Vitamix blender and a thermos.
Ingredients
- Fresh organic ginger root
- Water
- Optional: organic honey or lemon (if advised)
Equipment
- Vitamix or other high-speed blender
- Thermos or insulated container
Directions:
- Choose organic ginger: Select fresh organic ginger root. Organic options are free from pesticides, and the thin skin blends easily — no need to peel.
- Clean: Rinse the ginger under cool water to remove any dirt. Use your fingers or a vegetable brush if needed.
- Chop: Slice into small pieces — about 1–2 tablespoons per cup of tea.
- Blend: Add the ginger pieces to your blender with about ¼ cup of water. Blend on high for 1–2 minutes until smooth.
- Strain (optional): For a smoother tea, strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth, pressing to extract the liquid.
- Boil water: Bring water to a boil, then pour into your thermos. Add 1–2 tablespoons of ginger purée per cup of water, adjusting to taste.
- Optional flavor: Stir in organic honey or fresh lemon juice if desired.
- Steep: Close the thermos and let steep for 5–10 minutes.
- Serve: Pour into your favorite cup and enjoy the warmth and aroma of your homemade ginger tea.
Notes
- Ginger tea can also be enjoyed lukewarm or chilled the next day.
- Consult your healthcare provider before making major dietary changes or using ginger regularly if you have health conditions or take medications.
- Incorporate this tea into your daily routine to enjoy its invigorating flavor and supportive health benefits.
